Your dog comes home clean, soft and calm. That is the whole point of a grooming visit, and it is what we do all day at Chancho Grooming Salon. From wiggly puppies on their first bath to older dogs who need a gentle hand, we treat every dog like our own.

A good grooming is more than a wash. Loose fur gets brushed out before it turns into mats, the skin gets a real chance to breathe, and problems like hot spots, dry patches or overgrown fur get noticed early. You get a dog that feels better, not just one that looks better.

We serve families all over El Paso and the surrounding towns, and we handle big dogs and small dogs alike. If your pup pulls, panics or has never been groomed before, tell us. We go at the pace your dog needs.

Why owners keep coming back

Real attention to detail

We do not rush dogs through an assembly line. Every coat gets checked, brushed and finished by hand so your dog leaves looking cared for, not just rinsed off.

Gentle with nervous dogs

Puppies and anxious dogs get patience, not pressure. We build trust so grooming stays a good experience they will come back to.

Every size welcome

Yes, we take big dogs. From tiny lap dogs to large breeds, we have the tub, the tools and the hands to do it right.

A cleaner, healthier coat

Regular baths and brush outs cut down on shedding, keep mats away and let us catch skin issues before they grow.

How a grooming visit works

  1. 1

    Check in and coat check

We meet your dog, talk about what you want and look over the coat and skin so there are no surprises.

  2. 2

    Warm bath and clean

A warm bath with gentle shampoo made for dogs, worked all the way down to the skin, then a thorough rinse.

  3. 3

    Dry and brush out

We dry the coat and brush it out completely, lifting away loose fur and working through any tangles before they become mats.

  4. 4

    Finishing touches

A tidy up, a final once over and a happy handoff. Your dog walks out soft, fresh and ready for hugs.

Grooming built around your dog

No two coats are the same. A double-coated dog needs a very different brush out than a short-haired dog, and a senior dog needs a slower, softer visit than a bouncy one-year-old. We adjust the water temperature, the products and the handling to fit the dog in front of us.

If your dog only needs a bath and tidy, that is all we do. If your dog needs a full haircut, we can shape and style the coat as part of the same visit. Tell us how you like your dog to look and we will match it, or we will help you land on a style that suits the coat and your routine at home.

Grooming is also the best time to stay ahead of small problems. Because we have hands on every inch of your dog, we notice things you might not see under all that fur, from a developing mat behind the ears to dry skin or a nail that has grown too long. We will always let you know what we find.

Keeping your dog fresh between visits

Grooming works best as a habit, not a rescue mission. A quick brush a few times a week keeps loose fur moving and stops the tangles that turn into painful mats. It also gets your dog used to being handled, which makes every salon visit calmer and faster. We are always glad to show you the right brush for your dog's coat and how to use it.

Watch for the little signals that it is time to come in: a coat that feels greasy or looks dull, a dog that scratches more than usual, or that unmistakable doggy smell creeping back. Booking before those signs turn into problems keeps your dog comfortable and keeps grooming quick and affordable. When in doubt, a regular schedule takes the guesswork out of it entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take big dogs?

Yes. We groom big dogs and small dogs. Large breeds are welcome, and we have the space and tools to bathe and dry them comfortably.

How long will grooming take?

Most grooms take about two to three hours depending on your dog's size, coat and how much brushing out is needed. We will give you a better idea when you drop off.

My dog has never been groomed. Is that a problem?

Not at all. First timers and puppies are welcome. We go slow, build trust and keep the first visit calm and positive.

How often should my dog be groomed?

Most dogs do well every four to eight weeks. Long or double coats usually need more frequent visits to stay free of mats.

What if my dog is matted?

We will do our best to work them out gently, but heavy mats can hurt the dog to brush through. In that case we may recommend a shorter cut for your dog's comfort.
